I liked this DVD. It is too violent for kids. A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it…

Nearly as good as the previous film. Ape not kill ape.

I'd stick with the classics over this 3D garbage any day.

I liked this movie more than I expected. I found it suspenseful and the apes in motion were fun to watch. Leadership, trust, loyalty, family are shown from the apes' and humans' view.

Nothing to go ape about, but a good way to cool your heels in the heat.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a "darker" movie than Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This sequel is very different from it's predecessor, Rise of the P of A in which the apes just wanted to get to the Muir Forest. Dawn of the P of A…

This is a worthy successor to the Planet of the Apes franchise that surpasses the original. Everything that was great about the first film is improved here. The motion-capture has improved to make the apes even more real. At times, I kept…

All I have to say is that this movie was great!

While the James Franco-led RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES was ninety percent people and ten percent apes, the second installment in this prequel series, DAWN, is the reverse. Apes have truly risen, building their own society, with a line…

The pace could be faster in making those humanistic points. Otherwise, very watchable for the special effects and visuals of squalid San Francisco landmarks ten years after the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

Oh, Gary Oldman, what were you thinking? I had to turn this off it was so bad.

It is what it is -- a popcorn movie. I inferred nothing from it beyond that, and I think those who found subliminal 'racism' hidden in its context are paranoiac and delusional. Amazing CGI. Roddy McDowall's rubber mask has come a long way.

They gave all their attention to the development of impressive CGI animation but forgot to write credible and consistent human characters. This could have been a good story but was botched.

Stunning for my eyes but stunting to my brain. So much possibility was brought up and left to be painfully dumbed and inconsistently scripted. The mass potential created in this movie seems to be lost in the agenda of forcing an on screen…

Not good. The plot has a lot of holes.

So much hate and mistrust. So many hotheads with itchy trigger fingers. So much tension waiting to boil over. A tough film to watch. It was like shoving my head into a waste shredder.

I agree with the previous reviewer that it's intended to be a racist movie, but disagree that blacks were the intended monkey-men. I believe Asians, specifically Chinese and Japanese are the monkey-men this movie intended. A quick look…

This is a totally unexpected, but unnecessary, deeply racist, and sleep inducing sequel to the remake of this series that unfortunately came out a few years ago. This is the kicker though.Black people have no idea that the apes, chimps, and…

This is a 2014 American SF drama directed by Matt Reeves. It is the sequel to the 2011 film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." You could enjoy this entertaining popcorn film with stunning special effects and also should be able to learn…

I enjoyed the first hour and a bit and then this got a little overdone. Still not a bad watch if you like sci-fi action. Nice to see the apes never need to reload their guns and are expert shots!! LOL!! It is what it is….

The scientific research gave “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” a modern feel, which I prefer. This sequel, on the other hand, resorts to a hackneyed formula: an apocalyptic scenario with scarce resources and power struggles, etc. Really,…

Really powerful movie. First 10 minutes was enough to know that I would watch the rest of it. I have fairly high standards for movies since I watch hundreds each year. Really shows how evil both sides are--lot's of themes in this movie.…
