Cute and sometimes funny, sweet and sentimental. Moo was a quick read and fun, but it was also pretty predictable.

Sharon Creech has a wonderful way of writing about animals and the people in their orbit. The primary animal in Moo is, of course, cows. When a city girl (Reena) and her family relocate to a small town in Maine, she gets a crash course in…

This is a very sweet and sentimental novel. It transported me back to childhood when I spent many days riding and taking care of horses. I loved the relationship between twelve-year-old Reena and her little brother. I appreciated the…

I thoroughly enjoyed the audio version of this story. Now I'll look for the book to see how it is organized on paper. This title will be a great suggestion for readers who love animals.

A lighthearted story that makes you want to leave the city and move to a little community near the Ocean. Moo is a sweet story about finding friendships in the most unexpected places.

The ending did not work for me, the sad part or the wrapped-up-in-a-bow part. Too bad a city girl taking an ornery cow to the fair wasn't considered dramatic enough to lead to a different denouement.

A 2018-2019 Missouri Mark Twain Readers Award preliminary nominee (grades 4-6). A novel in verse. A fish out of water story about 2 city kids who move to rural Maine seemingly on a whim and are forced to volunteer on a farm for an…

I've enjoyed every book I've read by Sharon Creech! This one was about a brother and sister, Luke and Reena, who befriend a cranky old lady and start caring for her animals, including a stubborn cow named Zora. Reena, born and raised in…

Quick read, lots of white space. Wish I had slowed down, because I thought it ended a bit quickly. Fun to read.

Fast-paced story following a families'move to Maine told through lyrical poems. The characters are rich and dimensional.

Sharon Creech is one of my favorite author. She always introduces places to her young readers and connects them to the nature, animals and people. This book is the same, very uplifting. Not only the younger readers will like it, the…

While the story is written in prose, it emphasizes Reena's frustrated moments. Great story. Contains reality, humor, and little sadness. Great story for kids in Elementary and early Middle School. Heck, I liked it and I'm an adult. Reena…

I'm loving the blend of light humor with realism. City girl moves to the country and learns how to show a cow. Its written in poetry form, but its the fun kind where words sprawl across the page in style. This is one of those books that I…
