xxxHolic is amazing! It's epic. One of my favourite manga series (and I've read a lot).

Beautiful art, absorbing plot, interesting characters. while following the major story of the main characters centered around the with Yuko's magic shop, each chapter covers another story, of the people who encounter Yuko and her (basically) indentured servant, high-school student Watanuki. Touches on several interesting parts of Japanese folklore while keeping a modern setting.
One thing: the authors chose to put in a few brief incidents of crossover between this series and another (more kid-oriented) series of theirs,Tsubasa; however, it fits with the witch Yuko's usual activity, and it doesn't take over the storyline. You don't have to read both series to be comfortable reading this one.
