Michael Bernard Beckwith, founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center, shares his transforming central message and his powerfully accessible means for embodying that message in daily life, a process he calls "aspiring toward spiritual liberation." Beckwith teaches that it is inner spiritual work, not religiosity or dogma, that liberates us. He draws on a wide spectrum of ancient wisdom teachers, contemporary spiritual luminaries, and Western contributors to the New Thought tradition of spirituality, to create a profound new belief synthesis, a coherent practice that is neither Eastern nor Western but truly spiritually global. Read either silently or aloud, Spiritual Liberation can be included during meditation or prayer. Each chapter includes an affirmation that distills its core concepts into a sentence or two for the reader to easily practice throughout the day. Personal accounts guide the practitioner to integrate and activate the intrinsic gifts of divinity into everyday life.--From publisher description.

Although Beckwith is a wonderful teacher when listened to, his books do not convey the urgency in his spoken voice nor the talent of his oratory skills. Ornate and ever-winding, the senteces of this book's pages lose the reader in a midst of special, esoteric code words that make no sense to the average reader. Unless you know of Beckwith and the definitions of the words and phrases he commonly uses, you will most likely be lost and put the book down. I sure was and did.
