Twenty years ago, Allie Denty was "the pretty one "and her best friend Olivia Pelham was "the smart one." Throughout high school, they were inseparable ... until a vicious rumor about Olivia-- a rumor too close to the truth--ended their friendship. Now, on the eve of their twentieth high school reunion, they're about to get together again and resume an old friendship.

I loved all of the beauty references that were in this novel. It was such an easy read. It is the perfect book to read with all of your girlfriends. It has every reference that any woman could appreciate; from references to Philosophy, to cheating boyfriends/girlfriends that deserve to get the towel thrown at them. Allie and Olivia were once the best of friends, and after reuniting 20 years later they divulge themselves into saving their mutual friend Noah's life by derailing his poisonous relationship with a mutual classmate. Reading this novel makes even the least confident woman a little less intimidated to take control of her life, and maybe buy a few fantastic beauty products along the way!

A few of my favorite quotes:

"This season, beauty is in color-ad for Estee Lauder" p. 245

"Makeup optional.-ad for Hope in a Jar by Philosophy" p. 313

" I had no idea the happy ending could be so much fun" p. 335

Beth Harbison is one of my favorite authors! This book chronicles the life of Allie as she is not so eagerly anticipating her high school reunion. A great story of romance, humour, and friendship!
