One of my favorite movies as a kid and it still is. The costumes, the sets, especially the over size champagne glass stuck in my imagination forever. I can't wait to see it again.

A clever, charming, and amusing romantic comedy, although a bit silly at times, which also provides some food for thought ("simplify, simplify"). Excellent cast, even if all of the actors do not fulfill their potential. Shirley MacLaine is terrific and breathtakingly beautiful in all of Edith Head's costumes. (Head received an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design, Color, but did not win.) Entertaining and not to be taken seriously!

Remembered this as a kid and thought it was silly then. Couldn't sit through more than around 20 minutes of it this time. Only got the DVD to see Bob Cummings. Lots of talent wasted in this slapstick, unfunny film.
