The second of the Beiderbecke British TV series: 1. The Beiderbecke Affair; 2. The Beiderbecke Tapes; and 3. The Beiderbecke Connection . In this one, the two high school teachers are still living in the same smallish town in England. They discover an audio tape cassette with mysterious conversations about nuclear waste, and are forced to become amateur detectives. Again. The plot isn't as good as "Affair", but the characters remain endearing. The lack of closed captions makes understanding the British-accented dialog a challenge at times. Modestly recommended.

good bbc type show, not as staunch and uptight as christie characters nor as action packed as say dirty harry. mystery solving w/jazz riffs taking you from and to scenes while touring europe in a rick steves sort of way. entertaining if you pay attention to it or if you just listen.

Excellent! No bald guys with over-sized artillery, under-sized brains and pyrotechnics! The humour is top notch.
