Sam is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creaky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for total lunar eclipse. Victor at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house, but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life.

This movie is what I've been looking for since "American Mary," by The Soska Sister's, because it has a similar creepy atmosphere, where it keep's you guessing at every decison this poor girl make's. I recommend it for any true horror-fan. Be scared again with this one.

Like other reviewers said, this is a homage to classic horror movies of the 70s/80s, from the premise (babysitter gets more than she bargained for) to the credits to the music. It starts slow, but then erupts in a way that is both gory and creepy. If you prefer your horror subtle and atmospheric rather than ultra-violent (like "Hostel"), then you should enjoy this. Tom Noonan and Mary Woronov are well-cast, as is the lead actress, who looks a bit like Margot Kidder circa "Black Christmas." Listen for Lena Dunham as a 911 operator. Also check out "Insidious" and "The Conjuring."

I was also amazed at how good this film was. It was creepy and just flowed well. I do recommend it for a nice stormy night!

This is a great homage to 1980s horror films. The story takes a long time to build up to the climax, it evokes a tense, what-will-happen-next response that keeps you entertained and wanting to know what will happen next. It won't disappoint. This is a great film if you liked Black X-Mas, Rosemary's Baby, Let The Right One In and the films of Dario Argento.

this moves slow for the first half or so but then picks up all the while your thinking "true events...unexplained" freaky. human-horror freaky, good. hollywood-scary-horror freaky, not so much.

Supposedly a true tale of Satan worship in some unidentified college town. Lured into "babysitting" on false pretenses, Sam ends up in a horrific mess.
One could skip the first hour and not miss much. However, once the creepiness begins it's pretty intense.

I was completely surprised by how great this movie was. I was expecting it to be terrible and put it in to play in the background while I cleaned the house. Instead I was totally drawn in. It is a film that pays homage to old school horror films of the 70s and 80s. It is a little silly, but that doesn't take away from the films ability to create a mounting tension that leads to a truly scary movie. If you like classic horror films from a few decades past, this is a must see.

It's simple story, but it's a lot better than those Jason Friday 13th, Freddy Nightmare on Elm st..

Good acting and the tension was building up throughout the film.

Worth watching !
