I found that that the music on this disc does not fulfill its purpose, and with the second track, positively goes against it: its quite distracting and annoying. There isn't even very much of what could be called winds, i.e., wind instruments. One is much better off simply focusing on one's breathing.

This is Lou Reed's second-to-last solo album. Like the work he did around the same time with Metal Machine Trio, it represents a return to his drone roots. When Reed first met John Cale in the 1960s, Cale was a member of La Monte Young's Theatre of Eternal Music drone project. I love this album and have been playing it repeatedly.

Very chill, very ambient sound, this won't appeal to everyone. Great for meditation or for helping one slow down / fall asleep in the evening.

Hudson River Wind Meditations is an album of meditational music by Lou Reed, on the Sounds True record label. A departure from his regular rock output, it is named for one of New York City’s key features, the Hudson River. It is inner music to relax the body, mind and spirit, adjunct to Tai Chi and bodywork.
