Controvertida novela que Carlos Abascal puso en tela de juicio al considerarla inapropiada para su hija y para jóvenes de secundaria. En sí trata de Felipe Montero, a quien le es encargada una compilación de las memorias del difunto esposo de la dueña de la casa donde se hospeda. Durante su estancia, el protagonista comienza a vivir experiencias indescifrables entre fantasía y realidad.

An excellent read for bilingual (Spanish/English language) readers. I can't think of a better or more approachable introduction to the Mexican novel that includes the magical realism so often noted in Latin American literature or innovative use of literary devices such as the second person narrative.
