After reading the book I must say that the movie is nowhere near as good. Very disappointing, and things happen in the movie that don't in the book, either. To be honest, this movie is kind of an insult to the author of the Percy Jackson series.

friend bought the movie, i did not read the book. after watching for about 20 minutes i could not watch anymore. movie was cheesy and the dialogue was too cliche and boring. even though some parts were somewhat intense, i was expecting much more intensity with a serious theme while also being set in modern time.

Pretty good movie. It's got some bad language , but otherwise it's OK.
I wish they had Ares and some other stuff.

This movie was nothing like the book. The director took out ALL the main parts in the book. Where was the scorpion at the end? Why didn't Annabeth say that Percy drooled in the movie? Annabeth's hair is not like that. This was a horrible movie, and I would rate it 0/5 stars. Period.

Honestly, I'm disappointed. Like seriously! Book Annabeth: you drool in your sleep. Movie Annabeth: "admits feelings right away for Percy" This is supposed to happen at like, what? The Battle of the Labyrinth! Seriously? Who gets the HAIR coulour of the character wrong? How could you forget Clarisse? Why is Percy claimed so fast by his father? it took like a quarter of the book for Poseidon to claim Percy, and he gets claimed something that felt like seven minutes into the movie. Percy doesn't have a trident! Its Riptide he's supposed to have in the book! A SWORD. Lastly, at least get the AGE of the actors close to the age of the characters!!!! They're 12!!!! TWELVE!!!!!!! NOT 20 OR SO!!!!!

Where's Ares? the movie is missing a lot of different parts like how the pit scorpion gets Percy. Plus, isn't Annabeth suppose to have blond hair, not brown? Smelly Gabe is also suppose to be turned into stone. The flying shoes were suppose to be for Grover, and Grover wasn't the one left behind in the underworld, it was Percy's mom. The movie was good, but I think the book's better, No offense. In all, pretty good but I enjoyed the book the best.

To make a long story short: they've messed it all up. It was really different from the books, and if you haven't read the books yet, this movie is totally going to ruin your point of view. Too straight-forward, not mysterious, and the actors don't really fit the personalities of the characters in the books. It would be okay for me if this film wasn't adapted from the novel, but it was. As I was watching it, I kept thinking about what will happen, since i've read but they changed the plot line entirely. I did enjoy some parts though.

It's nothing like the books. Annabeth's hair, the plot, what's with the pearls????? Still, I kinda liked it, as a movie. But, I advise you to read the book first. Or, just watch the second one. It's way better, and you can just read the first book. 5 out of 10.

Other: the movie is too different from the book and doesn't even deserve to have the same name
