The Navy SEALs are the greatest warriors in history. It will be an honor and privilege to pen novels about them to promote patriotism, service and sacrifice.

I have already given over a thousand dollars to the SEAL charity and if my writing ever becomes big I will give them much more. I intend to become one of the greatest non-veteran advocates they will ever have.

People who criticize the acting must take into account it was all done by military personnel who are trained to save lives and protect their country. All said they did a better job than a lot of us could. It was a great film. I watched it twice.

The action scenes in the first half are nothing short of spectacular, a thrilling peek into the kinds of things that might take place in a covert operation. They became much less thrilling (and much more predictable Hollywood formula) in the second half.

A number of comments here have been made about "poor" acting, but hey, these are actual soldiers playing the part of soldiers, not professional actors.

The film does come off as a bit of a recruitment commercial/video game - including some rather highly imagined, male-specific "code for life" stuff that young men in particular would be drawn to - but, apparently, those who sign up to be a US soldier can expect (if nothing else) a real first class cemetery send off, courtesy of their employer, if they're killed on the job.

Gotta love the Armchair critics. If you think you can do better, do so.

The acting, as most point out, was pretty bad as was the writing. The two (only!) action sequences were pretty good though and gave a great (realistic) glimpse into what their world is like.

Not the greatest of acting from the main characters, but LOVED the cinematography.

Heart pounding griping action and suspense from beginning to the end. A movie that makes viewers stand up to salute our military intelligence, foreign operatives and troops, especially the SEALs.

The acting isn't very good, and there's a bit of propaganda. However, the action scenes are terrific.

(THE STAR RATING DOESN'T WORK--I GIVE THIS MAXIMUM STARS)+++ This is not like fiction feature films. It is so good it’s a rohrschach test for some. The Seals invited 2 guys to film them demonstrating their stuff—some things were softened (torture sequence) and others left out (newest or secret, obviously). But, in essence, this is special forces in action.+++Any complaint about the acting is an example of people’s issues re military or violence. The acting is actually very good. Virtually all roles except a few minor cameos of bad guys are real active duty Seals—and nobody does these guys except these guys. Not a regular film—but, man, that’s GOOD! Real tactics and procedure, real equipment, really fired. Lots of live fire and no Hollywood bs or plastic. The code is living by principles and this probably brings out issues amongst the fake humanitarians out there (if I were on the game-board I’d be an extreme Leftist—I’m just after the truth). +++So much cool stuff—a small drone is thrown up just before an encounter and bad guys escaping or flanking are spotted and eliminated. There’s a sequence where Seals swim underwater to a Sub and quickly are picked up and the Sub is seen diving—all real and just beautiful to behold. Many scenes where a group of Seals recon and form 360 degree cover with rifles drawn. Absolutely gorgeous! It’s all as real as can be filmed (except the advanced, still secret stuff) and performed by amazing cats who at least mostly act from principle. It’s the ruling class and their political puppets who are the bad guys. These are special forces, not the regular soldiers who can be misguided and criminal.+++ If Valor is ‘bad acting’ to some, they should see a therapist. The individual decides how he/she lives their life; and that’s always the case.

LT Rorke: Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.
