Legends of Zita the Spacegirl is Ben Hatke's second comic book about a gutsy gal who just happens to be lost in the universe. Zita has already saved the planet Scriptorus and is now on a publicity tour, hopping from world to world to shake hands and answer questions from all sorts of alien beings.

This was my favourite of the three books. Zita is not your typical hero who must do everything alone and be ever in the spotlight. She has brilliant companions and like many people is not sure who to trust when she finds herself in trouble.

Fame has its drawbacks. Over-exaggeration, die-hard fans, and no freedom. Worse off, Zita has been named a public enemy, causing her to go on the run. In the previous volume, it was thanks to the friends she made that she survived in this new and strange environment, but even these are lost. Without them, Zita is in trouble.

In the face of this adversity, Zita grows, further stepping into the shoes of a hero, despite her wish to just go home. She also makes new friends, who assist her along the way.

Volume Two is just as colourful and fun as the first, with more whimsical aliens, and introductions to several new secondary characters. By the end there is also a promise of more to come.
