Rating: 5/5 This is one of my favourite books because of the interesting plot line. The fact that one trait can dominate or define a person is a very interesting idea and then the author decided to group all people that have the same trait into 'factions'. The fact that the leaders are afraid of people like Tris that transcend having only one characteristic and are 'Divergent' gives the book an air of suspense and mystery as the audience comes to understand why being divergent is such a threat to their 'perfect' society.

This book is about a girl and her choices; her choices will change her life and define her. The author wrote this young adult novel extremely well and it is an amazing book for all to read. It is such a good book and the readers will fall in love with the characters. This book is definitely a page turner and will keep the readers on the edge of their seats. This is not a cliché book and it empowers women, it encourages women to be who they want to be and to make their own choices. It teaches all the readers they can be who they want to be and no one else defines us but us. 4/5 stars

This is my new favourite book! It’s a perfect mixture of action, emotion and romance. While reading it I immediately fell in love with the main character, and all the other characters too. I love how brave but also humble she is. It’s a perfectly touching story and beautifully written. Five stars!

I wasn't able to get five stars because I couldn't get the program to work properly. But a very good book. I never liked Hunger Games; this book though is I interesting from start to finish. Dark, mysterious, with questions you need to know the answer to, this book is more than Hunger Games fan fiction.

This book is amazing! It is a great mix of dystopian society, romance, adventure, and sci-fi. It is my favorite book of all time. Some people say it is just a different version of the Hunger Games written by a different author, but it really isn't.

Divergent is a bad book written by a good writer. If you look up "derivative" in the dictionary, the cover of this book is there. At some point Roth read The Hunger Games and maybe a few of the knock offs, and thought "hey, there's money to be made here!"

Dystopian future: check.
Segmented society: check.
Overly centralized government: check.
One girl that's not going to take it anymore: check.

Each of the five segments of Chicago is known for having one outstanding quality. If they test you and you have more than one, you're Divergent, and that's bad. Why? We don't know. Why would nearly everyone fit easily into one of five categories? We don't know. That's like asking why the train around Chicago never stops.

So, if I disliked this book so much, why the two stars? As I said, this is a bad book, by a good author. Roth writes interesting and fun scenes, even if the world she has created doesn't make a lot, or any, sense. It's worth reading this book just to get to the next two books in the series where she tries to make up for this book and save the series; which, other than the flaws inherited from this book that can't be changed, she manages to do.

The book for people who want a look inside human nature and the mind and want to see your true personality with the Virtue aptitude test in the back of the book. I sugest it for anyone who wants a good book with both action with a psychological aspect to it.

I loved this book so much that I have read it over 4 times. Why I have read it so much is probably because, the storyline never gets old and because of the amazing characters that Veronica Roth has created.

I loved this book. I’ve read it twice and I’m on my third time. Really thrilling, book two and three are just sad in my opinion. I think Veronica Roth could of ended after this book, because this could totally be a single. And by the way if your looking for other series to read try The Selection.

Violence: Yes, of course Divergent would have violence. It's like The Hunger Games that way. For example, getting stab in the eye with a butterknife, fighting each other as a test, and being under simulation and killing off all the people of one faction. That's alot already.
