This is a very boring movie. Many stereotypes are portrayed and not in a good way. I would advise to completely skip this train wreck and to find something with more content and real situations. If negative stars exited I would give a few of those.

A drama that tries too hard to be poignant, but advertises itself as a comedy; does not do either thing well.

Bait and switch movie (advertised as a comedy but mostly a drama). Stereotypical stock female characters - funny fat girl, biological-clock-ticking career woman, desperate-to-get-married chick, and the regretful one pining for the man who got away. Would not watch this one again.

What a train wreck of a narrative! With so many characters, we just jump from emotional moment to emotional moment with very little frame of reference. Intersperse those with some funny slapstick, good acting, and witty comments and you have a watchable movie with an interesting theme. However, in the end it's a lot of eye rolling at the attempts at emotional manipulation and an emptiness deeper than anything felt by the characters.

A fun way to idle away a couple of hours but not much more, I enjoyed the silly antics in the prowl in HOW TO BE SINGLE. My favourite character is played by Leslie Mann who plays a fairly stable character who embraces her status as a single doctor and makes decisions for herself. I like her growth as she allows someone into her life and how perfect they fit together, like puzzle pieces. Their relationship should have dominated more of the film; the lack of their particular dynamic throughout ended up being a major letdown for me. The thread of story bestowed on Damon Wayans, Jr., was also interesting. Otherwise, it was mostly slush. Still, the cast are good performers, so it's not an utter waste of time, although Rebel Wilson was a bit too ridiculous for my liking. Others may enjoy her brand of humour, but that just wasn't my cup of tea. Nonetheless, if you're the type to watch romantic comedies, you'll enjoy HOW TO BE SINGLE.

Hilarious stuff in this movie. Rebel Wilson has some laugh out loud one liners that'll get ya. Dakota Johnson is very sweet, charming and relatable. Really cute and fun movie.

Better than expected. An actual story line. It had some crude moments but an enjoyable watch.

When I saw the trailers for this movie, I expected the comedy to be along the lines of The Hangover or Bridesmaids; slapstick, crude, sudden. The few parts that actually were funny did live up to my expectations, HOWEVER, they were few and far between. This movie toes the line between Comedy and Drama, leaning more towards the latter in my opinion. It focuses more on men and women, all living in the same city, who are all single for different reasons and coping with it in different ways. The message is mainly how to feel powered and happy on your own while still keeping beloved friends and family close by. There were far more emotional parts than funny, although it was a very relatable film. This would be the perfect post-breakup movie. While this title is very good as a cheesy "Dramedy", it did not live up to the expectations I had for it as a Comedy after seeing all of the commercials for it.
