I've only recently begun to regularly read plays outside the realm of Shakespeare, and this play has been distinguishably the best. Every character and line of dialogue serves a very specific purpose, and all of them succeed at said purpose. The intersections of politics, religion, identity, affliction, and society play out beautifully. I feel as though anyone would be able to derive something personally moving from this play.

Possibly the most important American play of the last 30 years.
