Boring!! Watch something else. I turned it off 5 minutes into the movie.

The tale of a Catholic teen-age girl living in conservative Sacramento, California (I don't know too much about it Sacramento, but I get the feeling that Sacramento and Catholic is about as conservative and stifling as you can get. She has the desire to fly away, thusly renaming herself Lady Bird. I'm wondering if she will have to struggle to adjust to the freedom and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the East Coast where she wants to fly to.

Boring , nothing of a movie . So lackluster . Potential that led nowhere .

The teenage years, full of anger and longing. some get over it, others don't.

Way overrated. If I were being charitable, I could ascribe the chopping editing and fevered rhythms as representative of a teen's hyper-kinetic psyche; but, in fact, it seemed a freshman director's fear of lingering too long and being found out.

Didn't know much about this movie but heard it during the Oscars so I thought it would be good. It was boring and I couldn't relate. Do some people really live like that. If so, I can see why the struggling class turned to Trump. If it's a reflection of America, we got major problems.

I thought it was about Ladybird Johnson (LBJ's wife) - it is NOT. Teenage drama with a girl in Catholic school dreaming of getting out of Sacramento. Found it pretty dull, tedious teenage melodrama. However, having spent a few days in Sacramento myself, I could sympathize with her desire to move on and out!

While I did really like this film, it was a little overhyped, and I don't think it was the best film of the year (that would be "Get Out"). That said, this is a sharp, funny, and poignant movie that finds something fresh to say about teen desire, angst, and frustration. The cast is note perfect and writer/director Greta Gerwig doesn't condescend or mock the characters, however ridiculous they sometimes act. Note: This film has nothing to do with Lady Bird Johnson.

Disjointed trite scenes. Never really came together. Disappointed....especially after waiting so long to get. I like Laurie Metcalf as a rule....but in this....I cannot see why she would get nomination..... Seems it's no longer about quality but whose turn it is..... Sad commentary on quality of films we have today.

Dull as dishwater coming-of-age chick flick.

Many inquiring and humorous quotes have been posted in IMDb. Many thanks to the contributors. The first quote listed in the site hits the spot on the relationship between many teens and their parents (added three lines* for full context):
Lady Bird: I wish that you liked me.*
Marion: Of course I love you.*
Lady Bird: But do you like me?*
(Conversation continued as the first quote in IMDb page)
Marion: I want you to be the very best version of yourself that you can be.
Lady Bird: What if this is the best version?
