This story reminds me of the powerful feeling of fighting for those who can't. Mulan fights in the war in place of her injured father. She struggles but she overcomes these struggles when she trains hard and works alongside her friends. The soundtrack was powerful, specifically Reflection. Reflection reminds me of being unaware of how to show your true self to others. I'll Make a Man Out of You is another powerful song that resonates with me having to be a powerful man. I enjoyed this movie because of the difficult trials that Mulan had to withstand and how she came out on top. I would recommend this to those who love animation and enjoy watching a powerful woman let her voice be heard. @Mr.Balance of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Mulan is definitely one of my favourite Disney characters. She is strong, independent, smart, and cares about her family. I think that this is a great movie for young girls, as Mulan doesn’t let the sexist society hold her back from protecting those that she loves. There is a lot of action, adventure, humour, and suspense in this movie, which makes it really entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Furthermore, the music is excellent, and sets the tone of the movie perfectly. I think that there are a lot of relatable aspects to this film, and it is very empowering. I would highly recommend this movie to other viewers! 5/5 @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The first Mulan movie is one of the best movies Disney had produced during the late ’90s. It is a wonderful representation of a strong female character that takes place in China to fight in a war in place of her father. I adored the songs as they help progress the story more and keep the audiences interested all the way through. You know a Disney movie is good just by the first songs and I can say that strongly applies to Mulan. I feel as if the movie would be so much better if they did more research about the original story. There was a lot Disney missed like the concept that Mulan already knew how to fight, etc. Though, the Disney movie is still an absolute classic that empowers women which is why Disney chose to produce Mulan. It shows how women can do so much a man can do and that everyone is equal to each other. I highly recommend to watch this movie and share it with a friend who hasn’t already watched it. Many people I know who have watched it enjoyed it time and time again. 4.5/5. @Mystik of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
