I am just starting to get into audiobooks, and I really enjoyed this one. At first the narrator's sharp, brisk tone was jarring, but I got used to it. As for the story itself, I liked it despite figuring out the mystery about halfway through. The characters are well drawn, and descriptions of the clothes, cars, and decor of the period (1930) really helped set the scene. I generally don't read mysteries, because ever since I was a kid I've been able to figure out "whodunit" pretty quickly. While this hasn't changed, the novel itself was so interesting and well-written that it didn't really matter. I will definitely be checking out more of this series, and hoping that I'll be surprised at least once!
