This recording is a time-traveling treasure. "No Hiding Place Down Here," is my favorite. Polk Miller died in 1913, and this is a copy of the original cylinder recording. Miller was white, and he learned to play the banjo from enslaved people on his family's plantation. After the war, he formed this quartet, which included black members (source: Wikipedia).
