Emily Deschanel really delivers on her character, which is a very interesting one, professionally and personally. The rest of the cast does a very good job, and David Borenaz has slipped comfortably back into his Angel persona. The stories and settings are often, if not always, pretty good. The BIG problem for me is stupid, sausage fingered humor, particularly re overdrawn interpersonal relations and awkward situations. But the series is quite successful so maybe they are doing the right thing. Me, I like it in spite of it. They do have a lot of fun with putting bodies into strange and/or unlikely situations and making the bodies as grotesque or nauseating as possible. And to be fair, some of the humor actually works, usually involving Emily.
