The salesman

Having heard that the newest Asghar Farhadi film, "The Salesman," was based on actors playing in Arthur Miller's play "Death of a Salesman," I proceeded to view a filmed version of that play starring J. Lee Cobb (and a bit of the version starring Dustin Hoffman) since I have not viewed either for a long, long time. In my research of the Arthur Miller play, I found a poll of over 100 critics that suggested that it is the best American play that has ever been written. I am glad because (1) I now understand the Miller play a lot better than before and (2) there was less confusion on my part as to whether the Farhadi actors were acting in the film or were acting in the play. Also, watching the Farhadi supplement helped me to understand the motivation of Farhadi.
